At New Life Church we are called to a ministry of mission, reaching out into the world with the love of Jesus, being the hands and feet of Jesus to do his work. If you are called by God to start a new mission project, please let us know, so we can be of help in making that happen. Here are some things that are currently going on in mission work at New Life Church.
Blessing of the Backpacks Event
New Life will host a Blessing of the Backpacks on Sunday August 24th from 4:30-5:30. Families are invited to join us for games, hot dogs and chips, and a short blessing service. Children aged 3 and up should bring their school backpacks. School staff are also welcome! More details will be coming…but we are looking for volunteers to donate hot dogs, buns, condiments, individual chip bags, and waters. Please email Barb Hofstrom at b.neuhard@yahoo.com with your willingness to help.

Dr. Heather Heisey - Missionary to Mongolia

Recently, Heather has sensed God calling her to return to long term service in Mongolia. During a short-term trip to serve in Mongolia with V.E.T. Net last fall, she was asked to consider returning to serve in person with the team at V.E.T. Net. She has chosen to follow God’s call on her life and take steps towards returning to service with CVM and V.E.T. Net in Mongolia. Her work here will focus on sharing the love of Christ through veterinary medicine and training with a small animal emphasis.
This will include travel to small animal teams to train veterinarians in remote areas in small animal practice, assisting as an advisor in the Emerekh Small Animal Clinic and Training Center, helping with the veterinary internship program in small animal medicine, helping to provide the Distance Master’s Program for veterinarians, and assisting in development of the small animal continuing education program. Heather will also help organize and host short-term volunteers who travel to Mongolia to serve at V.E.T. Net.
Her hope is to continue to develop lasting relationships, to share the Good News with those who have not heard, and to disciple and encourage fellow believers in their faith and ministry. The Lord has shown her that He is the provider of a hope and a future for those that trust in Him. Through her service, her desire is to see others find that hope and future through Him for themselves.
Please consider supporting Heather with your prayers and/or monetary gifts. You can see her Christian Veterinary Mission (CVM) support page at: cvm.org/heisey
She relies on donations for her travel and expenses during her stay, thank you for your prayers and donations! Please email Heather with any questions about this trip: hheisey93@gmail.com
Food Related Mission Projects
We would like to develop a ministry that focuses on providing meals or other food related services to those who have the need. Currently a few of us prepare a meal for about 20 people at Out of the Cold once every few months, with each person providing a portion of the meal. We also sometimes provide snacks for the Pregnancy Care Center's monthly meeting. We would like to expand this to helping those with health issues by coordinating a meal train. If you have an interest in this type of ministry, please let Barb Hofstrom know at b.neuhard@yahoo.com or by calling 570-220-9513.
